- Elaborate on the story of you getting a job at UFC?
- Growing up she did karate, but she didn’t really enjoy it.
- In 2004, she dated a guy who was incredibly into MMA and UFC.
- Went to a fight but kept looking at this gorgeous blonde who was doing all the interviews.
- She thought she could do a better job than that interviewer.
- She then did everything she could to figure out how to work for the UFC.
- Wrote a letter and included her reel and sent it off to the person in charge of hiring of the UFC.
- She learned everything she could about UFC and fighting.
- She took Jiu Jitsu.
- She sent her resume and reel again, then she called the guy.
- He said they weren’t hiring right then, but she felt that physically she didn’t fit the mold they were looking for.
- She wanted to get herself in front of the guy who was hiring for this position.
- She bought a plane ticket to Vegas and showed up at a party that he was at.
- He called later and invited her to an interview with some of the UFC fighters.
- She walked into the interview and the biggest fighters at the time were in the room.
- She knew enough about MMA to hold her own with them.
- She was invited to dinner that night with them.
- Then she didn’t hear anything but made friends with Joe Silva.
- She got asked to host a DVD called Ultimate Knockouts which ended up on Spike TV.
- She then got called to host her first UFC fight.
- Why do you think so many people give up so quickly?
- She had a dad that told her she could do anything, and she learned a lot from him.
- When someone tells you no, you have to find a creative way to get around, above, over, or through it.
- A “no” is a life game.
- How different is it to hear a “no” from someone you respect?
- It makes it more fun and more challenging.
- Now you just have to get more creative.
- You just keep going after them.

- What you know is very important, it’s who you are.
- You can share it with others and help somebody.
- Who you know can help you get your message out in a broader fashion.
