- How do you help people take the leap from working 9-5?
- Everyone has a different risk tolerance.
- If it works for you, you should balance both until you’ve replaced your income or gotten close to replacing your income.
- She hates the rhetoric on the internet that success happens overnight.
- You may have to tough it out for a good year or two while you build your business and work a regular job.
- Everything you do takes time, don’t add a level of stress that you don’t need.
- The best thing you can ask someone that you’re thinking of hiring, is “what results have you gotten?”
- Do you believe that what you know or who you know is more important, and why?
- Who you know. They can help you build what you know.
- If you’re hanging with people who are where you want to be, you can learn so much from them just by participating in conversations.
- You don’t need to have more courses, you need to have more conversations with other entrepreneurs.
- This helps you build your knowledge base that helps you try more things more effectively.
- Tell a story about a connection in your life that led to a moment of success.
- James Webmore, Amy Porterfield, and John Dumas have a lot of integrity but all go about their business differently.
- She’s learned so much from each of them and it’s hard to attribute one thing to a specific outcome.
- Without relationships with the above people, Jill would be in the weeds a lot more than she is.

- Why do so many people neglect to network?
- People don’t neglect to do it, they do it wrong, they go in with the motive of getting something out of the relationship.
- Prioritize the connection and relationship first, and it pays off.
- Don’t take more than you give, give more than you take.
- People who are popular get a lot of requests to come on their podcasts, be different by not doing that.
- Everybody looks at networking too short-term.
- Play the long game.
- One great networking tip:
- Chill the f*** out and ask normal questions!
- Talk about something that the person you’re connecting with is actually interested in.
- Nobody wants their brains picked nonstop.
- Jill enjoys talking to people who will just keep it real with them.
- Have you ever paid for a 1-1 mentorship or a group mastermind?
- She has joined a mastermind group with someone she had a pre-existing relationship ahead of time with.
- If you walk up to an influential person you haven’t met before, do you ask a question or let things flow?
- Just lets things flow naturally, and lets someone else introduce her.
- If there’s no introduction, she’ll wait for an opportunity to come in and crack a joke.
- If you’re not going to be memorable, don’t waste your opportunity.
- First impressions only happen once.
- When meeting Amy Porterfield at an event, she never asked any business questions until after the third day or so.
- Chose to ask them to do something that was mutually beneficial.
